Farren -Price's Cookson 12, About Time representing the CYCA has won the coveted
IRC series crown for the first time in the 28th Pittwater & Coffs Harbour
Offshore Series announced tonight at the Coffs Harbour Yacht Club presided over
by Commodores' Russell Murphy (RPAYC) and Craig Chisolm (CHYC).
It was all Perpetual Mocean in today's Solitary Island Race

was all Perpetual Mocean in today's Solitary Island Race for Bruce Hogan's
Marten 49 by repeating her line honours victory in the 2009 Pittwater to Coffs race
with another line honours victory in today's Solitary Islands Race. Bill
Ebsary's Le Billet took out the IRC handicap spoils in conditions that suited
the Beneteau with Ray Hudson's Next Moment winning the PHS Division. The protest lodged by the Sydney 38, Swish has been dismissed a short time ago by the Protest Committee at Coffs Harbour Yacht Club. Results stand.

About Time, Julian Farren-Price's Cookson 12 from the
CYCA, has taken out the coveted IRC overall handicap
honours in the 2009 Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Yacht race. Moksha, a Hanse 540,
the largest and heaviest boat in the fleet skippered by RPAYC's Richard Rowe,
was awarded victory in the PHS Division.

Richard Rowe's Hanse 540, Moksha,
the "big Jaffa" claimed its first ocean race victory of any distance by cruising to victory to win the PHS
Division by just under two hours over the Swan 40, Byzance out of the Balmain
Sailing Club skippered by David Saunders with Michael Martin'sSayer 11.9 Frantic representing the Lake
Macquarie Yacht Club picking up the bronze.
The fleet is complete for the 2009 Pittwater to Coffs Race

The fleet is complete with the final boat, Flying Fish Let loose, skippered by Russell Bonner and the International sailing training company, having just crossed the finish line, as the last boat in the 2009 Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Yacht Race.
At 9:10pm this evening there were only six boats at sea to finish the 2009 Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Yaht race. They were Byzance, First Light, Flying Fish Let Loose, Mortgage Choice Rumba, Orion Blue and Wonderland. They are all expected to finish before midnight as they have now reported their final call at Nambucca with the sea breeze kicking in to bring them home. It appears their biggest hazard will be the poorly lit yacht moored in the middle of Coffs Harbour which is being relayed to all finishing competitors.

journeyin the 2009 Pittwater to Coffs
Race with more on the way. With the news of Perpetual Mocean taking line
honours from Pretty Woman in a time of 24hrs 47 mins 2secs the following yachts
have completed the race.

In the closest finish in the 28 year history of the race,
Perpetual Mocean, the Marten 49 has taken line honours in the 2009 Pittwater to
Coffs Harbour Yacht race. In a time of
24hrs 47mins 02 secs she beat the Farr 45, Pretty Woman by a mere 3 and
a half minutes after 226nm of racing, crossing the finish line with kites
flying in Coffs Harbour just before 1:00pm today.Pretty Woman's official time was 24hrs 50mins 39secs.

The second radio report by the fleet in the 2009 Pittwater to Coffs race has been completed and at 7am this morning. With conditions softening throughout the night, slowing her record pace, Pretty Woman reported its position 2 miles north of Crescent Head leading Perpetual Mocean by 6 miles in the race for line honours in the 2009 Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Yacht race. With approximately 55 miles to the finish line, this will see Pretty Woman crossing the finish line sometime around 1:30pm today.
The first retirement of the 2009 Pittwater to Coffs Race is Cyrene 3, the Michael Selby X412 from the CYCA has reported at 11:15pm that she has retired from the race due to 3 sea sick crew members. She is safe and well and making her way to Newcastle. No other retirements at this stage.
